    Remus V.S. Magnaflow ?

    Hi guys ,

I'll be getting my ride (1.8L CL) a brand new muffler .. i'll be going with a 2.25" inlet and a 2.5" outlet .. just been wondering about what might sound better .. a Remus muffler or a Magnaflow ..

    any experiences out there ??

    thanks in advance

i have heard both of these on VR 12v and they both sound wild ! i like the sound of the remus better, but thats my preference . On a 4 banger im not sure what it will sound like ??? maybe have a crack with a rear suitcase delete before you spend big $ on brand name exhaust . I had mine removed recently for like $75 and must say im more than happy with the result for now.... keep in mind though that was done on a VR

I had a 2l GL with a remus catback, sounded real GOOD (but then again i've always liked the sound of remus) People told me that they defs knew it was me coming. I paid $1200 for mine, but like mrVR6exy said try the suitcase delete first and see how you go.

    Wooooooooooooooooohhhhh hold on ther mate.

A 2.5" is way too big for our 1.8ltr 4 banger.

Ill get a picture of my system for ya.

    - Magna flow 2" high flow cat
    - Stanless car back 2" mandrel bent sytem
    - Hot dog/resenator centre
    - Straight through 2" with 2.25" rear muffler using factory tip.

    2.5" is waaayyyy too big!

    Well...

As you increase your pipe diameter size you also the increase the amount of space on the inside of your exhaust...Volume.

You are trying to fill more space with the same amount of exhaust gas. You are effectively reducing the flow unless you are able to force more air into the engine to balance out the larger exhaust size. What I have described above in simple terms is more commonly known as Volumetric Efficiency

so you think 2.5 is too big .. the thing is im not replacing anything else .. just the rear Muffler that comes with the tip .. im leaving everything else OEM . . cuz im pretty Low on Funds .. and Im going to be a Student for the Next 4 years .. so i dont see a lot of Money to do a proper Cat-back in the near future .. any suggestions other than a full on catback ?

    Cheers

Wondering if Deleting the suitcase + a nice Muffler would make the car way too loud .. any thoughts ?
May Be Just the Muffler without Deleting anything ?
I just wanna make sure it's Below the legal limit .. really cant afford cops on my back ..

if you look under your car from the rear, its the suitcase sized baffle just before the rear muffler . like i said mine was removed and im more than happy with the note but keep in mind a VR will sound heaps different to a 4 banger . What i also love about it, is that the whole rear end looks factory cause im not a fan of big shinny chrome tips and all that .
