    Removing Wheel Arches

    Hey all,

Thinking of removing the side arches on my vr6, I'm slowly moving to clean look. I am wondering how hard is it to do this?

I know that K1LLS did his but there was part of the molding that is missing. Can you get this piece from a GL?

I want to roll my guards it can be done but with the arches it still seems like it wasn't rolled at all

its pretty easy. just drill out the rivets that hold them in place. if u have mudflaps they need to come off as well. then they just come off pretty easy.
and yeah. the extra bits of trim should be attainable from a decent wrecker? if not certainly from a dealer but probly for eleventy billion dollars. would have to make sure the trim is from an early car without flares cos the 96 model year cars and onwards had a thinner body coloured strip from memory so it wont match the width/colour of the current trim.

Try Matt or Oli for the extra piece that covers and completes the trim on the rear and front quarter panels. If they don't have it, then just try wreckers like what Tim mentioned.

you dont understand rolling the guards!!

they do not make them look fat! thats something else, like pumping the guards bigger.

you say you wont notice it with the arches on, even if you took them off you wont notice it. wen u roll the guards, it fold in that edge bit only.

I'm not trying to pump the guards only trying to stop it from rubbing.

The rivets in the arches are what are hitting the tyres, if I get rid of the guards and then roll the guards and leave it like that then they won't rub and it will be stealth.

u cant roll the guards properly with the arches on because they dont bend inwards like that metal does. ud need to trim the inner edge off them but that would probly just look ugly as a hat full of arseholes. removal is a better option

from that sentence, it seemed like you wanted bigger guards.

thats cos the guards get rolled but the arches are plastic so they dont get rolled. so it makes no difference to the clearance at all

You can only roll the guards so much cause the arches are riveted to the guards and the rivets stick out so much.
