    if you can get your hands on some solvent say MEK or acetone it may do the trick not sure where u would get some from though

    i maybe able to get my hands on some solvent, so remove large amounts with fishing wire etc and rest with solvent?would the solvent damage the paint?

    Do the fish line method, but you'll still have some residue around - go to Bunnings and look for this product called "Goof Off". Some places put them in the weirdest places, so ask one of the attendants.

    The windscreen guys usually use thin wire on sikaflexed windscreens, seeing as its so close to the paint i would use fishing line then prepsol or acitone. If there are chunks lift go to the hardware store and get a caramel wheel its a rubber piece with a bit attachment they are cheap too fit it to a drill and use on an angle at low speed just nice and slow and dont keep on one spot for too long as will take away paint.

    solvent wont damage the paint not unless you soak it in a bath for a day or so

    Will remove wax though, so you'll just have to wax the area again.
