So i was leaving centro gympie yesterday after some lunch and as i was driving out of the undercover carpark, my clutch pedal went "clunk" and was stuck fully pressed.

i quickly pulled into a free space while i was still rolling and turn the car off so it would stop. Thinking "whats gone wrong now" i opened my bonnet to find the clutch cable unattached to the arm that connects to the gearbox.

being 2 hours from home and having a deadline of 1 and half hours before i needed to leave for work so i could make it to work on time. what i needed was a quick fix to get it actuating so i could at least drive it to my girlfriends house and park it there and use her car until a replacement came.



luckily my girlfriends brother is a builder so i had access to some tools. i found a scrap bit of metal and grinded a slit down the middle to mimic the part that cracked.



it fitted the cable nicely and i added a couple of zip ties for piece of mind i have full faith that it will be fine to drive around but ill keep using her car till i get home to get a replacement.
i would've taken more photos but i was in a hurry to get something working so i could get the car out of the car park and get to work.
