Removing an extra bit off an airbox

Hey guys, just a quick question, what are the pros and cons of removing the extra pipe thing from my airbox, it seems to be blocking a lot of air

    Thanks

If it's anything like the Mark4 airbox, it's a.. Semi CAI pipe?

to suck in colder air from inside the fender, rather then the hot air coming from the engine bay.

    it may help a little.

May aswell do this though rayray's garage: airbox mod done!

Makes a big difference. You don't need a K&N filter either, as long as you have a fresh new filter that isnt all clogged up it will be just fine. Actually Ive heard its been proven a new paper filter flows better than a K&N.

Im not too keen on chopping up my airbox, i might just remove the J pipe and see what happens.

Cutting out the airbox is really easy, and for a 2L, I would just chop a small amount out so you dont see performance loss.
