I did all the soldering and socketting of Chips myself.
In the Pics you see the original chips in the socket as I tested the car 1st to see if I have a working car before I put the Upgrade chips in.
Other ECU have what they call Flip Chips.. you just flick them out of the square socket. THey are about the size of a postage stamp.. seen here outlined in blue at bottom left corner.
Yep mine were old skool chips - It was a suprise to the upgrade chip supplier as well.
Everyone else said my 1Z ECU had Flip Chips. Lucky for me I had to get the Chip Code/numbers from the stickers on the chips before I could order - This also confirmed what Chips I had.
