Refreshing a manual tranny with 220k

So the VR6 has done 220k and as you may expect things are getting tired.

Gear shifting is a bit wayward and inaccurate and first sometimes is a pain to get into so i have to use the second and then first trick.

I want to get a short shift kit via this: 02A Cable Transmission Short Shift Kit - Gruven Parts

but have been advised to NOT get this : 02A Billet Stainless VW Shift Cable Repair Blocks - Gruven Parts

HaydEn also suggested some 42DD delrin shifter bushings, but i can only find these which appear to be metal: VW Shifter Bracket Bushings

Can anyone shed some light on the above components or give some suggestions for bang for buck mods or where best to source some of these items?

    Thanks in advance!

They 42dd bushings you linked are also great but Hayden meant to say the dieselgeek derlin shifter bushings, they don't seem to be available off the diesel geek website anymore though.
This is a cheaper alternative to the gruven parts piece Dumpy Bunny Design Volkswagen 02A 5 speed Short Shifter – Rennen Welt
and they currently have a "Use code "SHIFTSMOOTH" upon checkout to receive the $75 shipped offer." deal.

I will soon be trying that bushing kit, its the last set of bushings i have to do. Shifting is still poor for me but i thinks that's just o2a life.

i emailed them and asked for shipping then i checked out via their website.

i think they've amended their online checkout to include australia now as i too saw that when i originally tried to buy it that Australia wasn't able to be chosen.

cool thanks for the tip, i'll send a PM to Greg, Went to their website and i couldn't see any 42DD parts.
