    Rear shock options?

Dad's Mk3 is getting on now, the front struts were apparently changed for Bilstien (probably basic B4's) shocks a year or two ago, but the rear is now failing as are the bearings, due to years of towing once a month without upgrading the springs, anyway, it's done 250k so the shocks are dead, just wondering what people recommend?

I bought Bilstien HD's (B6's here) from america for my Volvo and it worked out to be $400 for the shocks and over $100 for postage, so I got ripped off as a result of needing a certain rear shock for my IRS car, but for this, it shouldn't cost more then $250 including postage, but I'm just wondering if anyone else has any other recommendations that could come in for under $300aud?

Where abouts are ya? I will be selling my current setup of sach shocks all round + eibach springs soon. The fronts done prob 1500k's the rears under 5000k's, can separate if u want.

From memory they were 390 for the rears and 325 for the fronts brand new

Ah bugger, never did that, in melbourne, Sach ones are stock shock aren't they? Been looking and it seems he has Bilstein Touring Class, ie basic bilsteins, but you can get em for as little as $50 each in the US, so even with psotage it will be less then 200. That's scary.

I think they are a little better than stock but not worth what i payed for them unfortunately. U wont find anything under 300 for all four shocks unless u get like munroe or pedder shocks which make baby jesus cry

only after rears and that's what I thought about monroe or Pedders too, I've got nice monotube Bilsteins on my car with stiffer king springs and it rides well and handles pretty well for a big barge, so I know the B6 Bilstiens are worth it, and I'm hoping the touring Comfort would be better then stock, but not as stiff as the B6's are.
