nice buy! good luck with it
Hi! I've just bought a '96 VR6 after being away from VWs for a while.
My car came in as a trade in at work, then got hail damaged on christmas day while it was waiting to be sold off. After I saw it, I had to have it and ended up stealing it super cheap because of the hail damage which is only very light!!
It's got 169000km on it, has a good service history and came with rego until October. It looked pretty rough when I got as the front bumper was hanging off and the tailgate had a big dent in it, but I managed to refit and straighten the front bar and replacd the tailgate.
It came up really well after a good wash and polish and I ended up getting it on the road quickly which I was pretty happy with.
The plan is just to maintain it and enjoy driving it, but I will probably get bored and do a few small things to it. I've already put a short Mazda3 antenna on it which I like!
Only got one pic at the moment which is the day I picked it up. I'll put some more up over the weekend now i've tidied it up a bit.
Here are a few of my old Golfs in the UK
My MK2 GTI when I first got it
And how it ended up
MK1 Campaign in a sorry state
And my MK2 with my mate's old VR6
Sorry about the quality of the old pics. The camera was shocking!!
And here are my two non-VW cars which will both be for sale shortly!

$700! Total bargain, well done! Pix of the short mazda atenna? Noticed any signal loss with it?

There is a slight loss of reception in areas that are fairly bad anyway, but it's no different in the metro area. They are about $23 retail and the part number is EG2366A30.
Here's a pic of it. You can just see some of the hail damage on the roof too, if you look at the reflections.
My daughter saw the car for the first time tonight and told me i'm never allowed to sell it because 'the engine sounds really cool'!!

Can anyone recommend a good place in Melbourne to pick up a stainless crack pipe? My original one seems to have cracked!
get in contact with Tim at Dubaddiction, he should have that, along with alot of otehr VR6 parts in stock!
Interesting antenna! I've got the VW sharan knock-off, which has lousy radio signal but is also about half the length of that mazda one.
Check out Dub Ad·dic·tion [duhb uh-dik-shuhn] for a load of bits n bobs for your new dub![]()

Nice little site that![]()
Thanks! I found a few more bits I 'need' while I was looking on that site.
I had to visit the dealer to get a tail light, so I grabbed a stock crack pipe while I was there as I needed it in a hurry.
I also priced a few other bits and none were too expensive, especially compared to the rip off wreckers I got some prices from. The wreckers quoted me the same price for an illegally tinted second hand tail light that I ended up paying for a brand new genuine one!!
I also bought a couple of bits off eBay. I'll post pics when they arrive.
My eBay goodies turned up! I got a MK4 style gear knob and a deep euro chin spoiler. I also got an antenna base gasket from DubAddiction.
I'm not that happy with the chin spoiler. When I compare the two spoilers they're both the same width and shape, and all the holes line up and it clips in ok but there is a gap of about 2cm in the middle. It just seems too narrow for the car. Has anyone else had problems like this? I was assuming the deep chin spoiler was a straight swap for the standard one but am I wrong? Any help or advice much appreciated!! Here's a pic of the problem.
