Rear passenger floor gets wet after aircon's been on!

Can someone explain to me why the driver's side REAR passenger floor gets wet, seemingly after I've had the aircon on?

It is definitely not rainwater leaking in as it dried up, and is suddenly wet again, and we haven't had any rain recently. Also, it is a specific patch in the middle of the rear driver's side passenger footwell, not the whole area.

Is this some sort of air con drain that is blocked or something? It only happens in that area, no where else in the car from what I can see.

This topic has been covered at length before. There should be a rubber drain hole on the firewall on the front passenger side of the car. I just used to stick my little finger in and out a coulple of times and it usually unclogged and suddenly water should start to run out. I have seen some people stick a bit of wire in like part of an old clothes hanger or such.

Thanks for the info although unfortunately I have a VR6 and access is a lot tighter in the engine bay. Does anyone know where this drain is on a mk3? I think it's behind a heat shield and I'll need to access it front underneath the car, but it would be nice to know if someone has the exact location of it.

It will be in almost exactly the same place as can be seen in the middle of that second photograph. I am almost certain that the plug hole that you see in that photo is a common part for tha Mark 3's. It is hard rubber and it has like a flap over the end that you sort of lift up and then push whatever it is that you use into it. You might have to push it 4 or so inches (100mm if you are al lot younger than me).

I have had a Vento and 2 VR6's and the picture that I put up is my Seat. I have had this happen on all 4 cars. I could always just reach down from the top on the passenger side. You might need a light or a torch but trust me it can be done. I have seen that plug fall out though. It happened on the Vento. I just got a bit of curved heater house and pushed it onto the hole in the firewall and that worked fine for years.
