radio unlock procedure

Does anyone have the procedure for unlocking the radio??
Seems I have the main manual for the car but not the radio part. I have the code just not sure which buttons to press!

Usually just leaving the ignition on with the radio on for 1hr will reset so a new code can be entered...VDUB...

I don't know what your radio looks like. But, here is the PIN entering procedure for the unit from MK5.

From memory, you press the preset buttons in this way:

If the code is 1234, you press preset button #1 once, the second one twice, etc.

If that don't work, the method is to press the preset button that coresponds to the number in the code. So if the code is 1234, you press the buttons 1, 2, 3, and 4 in that order.

Being a Eurovox radio, I'm thinking it's the second method.

well that is another issue... lol... i have a code that is in the stuff that came with the car, only had a quick look at it as I didn't know how to enter the code anyway. But I think it is more than 4 digits. Will have another look tonight and have a go at unlocking it if its a 4 digit code.

Honestly, when it comes to the stock radio (assuming it's a tape player here) it's worth ditching it and replacing it with a shiny new CD playing model with loads more features (unless you're trying to stick to OEM for some reason).

You can get easily get a unit that also has bluetooth built in for under $200, hell under $150 is even possible these days!

I know it's money you don't *need* to spend. But handsfree audio + USB / iPod are great options given the fines for using your phone in the car these days. Install is pretty straight forward and if you were in Sydney I'd happily lend a hand... that said I'm sure you can find someone nearby if needs be.

Looked at the code someone has written in the book and its 6 digits.
