I had to make up one of these to get the overflow line into the right spot in the engine bay.

What you need is a temperature sender adaptor to go into a radiator hose. They're a very common thing for gauge obsessed ricers to bolt in. Autobarn or any auto accessory shop stocks them.

    Here's an ebay example http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Water-temp-ga...QQcmdZViewItem

They come in different diameters to suit different hoses. They're supposed to be used to put a temp sender into but you can also just scew in brass hose fittings. With a bit of luck your auto shop will also have the right fittings, otherwise you can go to Pirtek or the Hose Doctor etc and get the fittings from them.

I'll try and find a pic of the one in my car.

    Pete

Can anyone tell me what size the main rad hose is?

The local radiator place will make a brass one up for about $25-30 if I let them know what size I want it.

I'm a little suprised the guy didn't just measure it up while I was there, I wouldn't have thought it would be too hard. There is another place round the corner I might give a bash.

Unfortunately this is one of those parts you can't do much with while your at the place since it's so damn hot after getting there

You are lucky. When mine was just seeping I drove to my mate's radiator shop. I popped the bonnet and when I touched it to show him where the leak was and the T piece just fell off into my hand. Anyway he just made one up out of aluminium and charged me about $15.00 from memory. It doesn't have to ba as fancy as most of those other suggestions.

Pirtek in Campbelltown. Nice bloke, after working out what I was actually on about, walked out, measured it up and I pick up the part tomorrow morning (he was running late this arvo otherwise I would have had it today).

Will have to remember to take the wifes car down to pick the part so mine stays nice and cool

$34.99 later and here we are:

Needs a good clean and a coat of black paint and it's all good.

Will try putting it in on the 10th when I get my other parts (including the new expansion tank).
