    Power window motor

So in a previous thread I was saying how my window was stuck in the up position.

I took the motor off the regulator. I just plugged in the power window motor without the regulator connected and pressed the switch but the motor only turns one way, presumably the way that winds the window up, not down. If I try pressing down it just makes a clicking sound.

Do I definitely need a new motor? Any way of fixing it?

Mine did the same thing but wouldn't go up (would go down).... i put a voltmeter accross all the terminals and there was a drop in the up signal (from the Switch thru the motor), which i think means that some electical circuits in the motor on the down bit burned out/dodgy... probably the circuit board you can see on the motor, a bit complicated for me to go thru that and find the fault...

Interesting. To be honest I probably can't be bothered fixing it, even if it is possible. It is just unfortunate that I had to destroy the window regulator to get it out. Think the regulator was actually perfectly fine, must be a first haha
