As soon as my GAP order arrives, I'm gonna try my new K&N drop in filter, same engine as yours too, just in a MK2.
To be brutally honest, I don't think you could really make an 8v sound 'aggressive' or throaty without some $$.

But I'll let you know if I notice a differance (audibly)once my filter arrives.

MK2 - *Insert list of dealer purchased extra's/standard features here*

A Mk3 2ltr sounds pretty good with the lower front corner of the air box removed:

    DIY:

    rayray's garage: airbox mod done!

CLean your ITB? not enough air flow flowing through or it's blocked im guessing. I recently put a pod in my 1.8 gives a good BWARRP when you give it a hit. Not too bad but don't bother with performance ahah.
