    last thing,
    can anyone tell me if it is necessary to straighten out my cable ? I suppose the cable is straight for a reason actually .... if I was to remove and straighten it out, how big of a job would that be?

    Leave the cable in and straighten it mate.

    Id grab it wit 2 pairs of grips and make it straighter.

    To remove it you need the exhaust and the shifter box out. Not a fun job.
