What about a 96?
Hi guys.
I am im slowly beginning to reassemble my 3dr vr swap and am having an issue with rewiring the engine bay. The donor vr was a early (94) 4 door car in dark red (maroon) and the 3 door shell was a 98 car in gray.
I have completely rewired the 3 door shell using the vr harness front to back, well firewall to back
The issue i am running into now is that i didn't take any detailed pics of the wiring and how it ran from the firewall to the various engine components.
Heres the highlighted wiring as it is on my car
I asked a local mate with a early vr to send me pic of his engine bay and his doesn't have the wiring going over the strut towers, but its also a 1994 car.
Having researched the topic quiet extensively, all i have managed to find is threads on hiding the wiring altogether, something i don't want.
So please, if you have a early vr6 with the wiring going over the strut, take some pics or even record a vid of the route the wires take coming out the firewall.
thanks

I have a 94 that I can take some photos for you tomorrow if you like

Passenger side runs above strut tower on guard side as you've done. Driver side is run lower down not on the strut tower so the way you've done it is not "factory".
Look at most 3 door VR6's and they're done the way you've done it anyway so you know.

If the wires run over the strut towers then yes please.
I didn't rewire the front. The photo I posted if off another car and is identical as to how my wires were.
Mine both ran over and around the strut towers when i got it.
I do find the drivers one is a bit short in a few spots so maybe aro uh nf the lower part of the tower is a better idea
