    Overheating GL

i was waiting in the que at red rooster yesterday and all of a sudden i saw smoke coming out the bonnet and my temp gauge was through the roof! i got it towed home let it run up to normal operating temperature and got up there extremely fast, they slowly it crept upto 105 degrees when i turned it off. it started coming out of the top of the resi wen i parked it up. has any1 experienced this or would have any idea y it boiled over? im thinking dodgy radiator. thanks

Is the fan kicking in? If not check the wires are attatched first as my mk2's have burnt through twice. Also if you flush the rad and it's clean check that the outside isn't caked in dirt like my old mk1.

Hold the top hose and get someone to rev it to see if the water pump makes good pressure. Could also be your thermostat is knackered so removing would tell you.
