    overheating, but its not????

hey guy got a problem with my 94 gl golf. Its saying that the car temp is 110C but the heat coming off the engine is no where near that and its saying to put coolant in even though it is full.
anyone have any ideas what may be causing this or anything??

any help will be much much appreciated..

Either a Buggered Waterpump or Thermostat. They are my guesses. Might I suggest purchaseing a "Bently's Guide" for your car. Look on Amazon.com or just do a google search. You'll save so much money and learn more about your car. One of the best investments.

could be a number of things, as above, thermostat, coolant temp sensor, could be a blockage somewhere in the hoses, take it to a mechanic, mine ran hot and blew a head gasket... not soo cheap to get it fixed....

i think it'd your thermostat, cause i have a faulty coolant temp sensor which i have a replacement on the way, and basically what that fault does is tells the computer to inject more fuel than actually needed on start-up, well, atleast thats whats happening with me. but i know the vr i own had problems with the temperature before i bought it, cause the guy got it all replaced. but that's my 2 cents

Easy fix. Well, easier than the Thermostat. I need to the one on my sons 2.0, but looking at the bentley manual, it's a right pain to get to.
