Just thought it would be interesting to know if anyone on the forum has had their MK3 since new? That is, being the original and only owner since the car was bought from the dealer? I can't imagine there would be that many. I paid $8500 for my VR, which was $45 000 when new. I guess most of the original owners would have sold of their cars which would now be owned by P platers like myself, seeing theyre between 10-15 years old. I am the fourth owner of my '94. It would be good to hear about the history of others cars (how many owners etc, stories?). I'm always fascinated by stuff like this.
I have no history on my car.
I don't know if im the second or 10th owner.
All i know, is there are still quite a few P platers with em.
Mk3's dont seem very common in Perth, I've seen 1 p-plater in a mk3 and she posts on this forum.
My car's had 3 owners. 1st Owner lived in Perth but ran a business in Bunbury (160km south of perth), she racked up a huge ammount of Km's going by the service logs. 2nd owner lived 10min from work so he seldom drove it. Then theres me, barely drive it during the week and go mental on the weekends
1st owner also modded it a bit, theres evidence of a huge stereo being in there and she stuck on some cheap rims. Stereo went when she sold it but the rims have stayed since. 2nd owner didnt give a rats arse, just drove it and kept it in semi-ok condition but the interior was dirty as hell when I got it. Red dirt in every nook and cranny you could find!
Since then I've done some mild mods, put in a new stereo and got the windows retinted. I want to put on 17" OZ rims, get some decent rubber on em, get a new exhaust, respray the car and refresh the leather. I also want me a pair of good quality driving lights, Hella make a really tiny xenon pair that are the ducks nuts!!

Im the second owner of mine. Was lucky that the original owner I bought it from kept it in awesome condition and kept the services to it (along with a replacement heater core just before I purchased it)
i went with my dad down to pick up a brand new '94 vr6 from the dealer when i was in year 4, we drove home in it. ive still got it sitting in my carport got every bit of paperwork from new, seen every set of worn out tyres end up in a cloud of smoke. and i did the same. list of every oil change etc etc.

Its a bit of a pain in the ass getting the car up to scratch after the previous owner's mistreatment, or in my case, ugly mods. Can't really complain about the mechanical condition but the sound system that was in it when i bought it was a really dodgy install. Amps screwed into the seat backs and wiring floating all round the boot. Sounds alright though so I cant really be bothered fixing the looks. Mine came with a cheap chinese brand set of headlights that have gone all yellow . Also theres a set of 16" wheels from a newer passat but no suspension parts where replaced so it looks ridiculous. Sagging rear springs/shocks with a 4x4 front damnit. Eventually I'll have it how I like it though..
I am the second owner of my VR6. Picked it up with 44600km in 98, now it has 56000km in 08.
