I am driving about 100 km everyday !!!
About ovners: That is too easy to check if you have somebody in police who can check at computer at police station. I am 2nd owner of my VR6, and previous is someold guy from England (lucky me).

On the subject of km's I don't consider them to be a greatly important factor in the condition of the car. Unfortunately I've had some transmission issues lately but other than that the car is in good nick thanks to a good service history. The service intervals were never missed so I reckon thats probably the single most important thing with a car's history. Mine has done 208xxx and I hope has a long way to go... With regular oil changes, timing belt and and maybe a clutch replacement eventually, you should be good to go on and on.
yeah i would agree with you on the service changes and being driven every now and then to keep everything lubed and working. every thing is fixable anyway , and suspension bushes are often over looked and have a big impact on the feel of the car also there are cheap to replace.
dont buy a car with the oil changed every 20000 kms tho lol under ten max ive always done it between 5 and 7000 km oil changes since new and dont forget the filter every 2nd change ;)
cheers brenton
My 95 has had 2 previous owners. The first was a dentist from Toorak, how do I know this? I found his name badge with "Toorak Dental Centre" emblazoned upon it under the drivers seat when I put the Cobras in hehe :) He seemed to take pretty good care of it, all services done etc.
Second owner was here in Canberra, a guy that works in Centrelink National Office (where I also work), bit of a half ass in regards to servicing and general maintenance/detailing of the car. When I bought the car had a few oil leaks, non working rear windows, couple of cracked water hoses, cracked control arm bushings and a few other bits and pieces. Thanks to Michael at CVWC that's all been taken care of. The second owner did, however, install Eibach springs and adjustable Billstiens, so for that i'm grateful. As i'm sure most of you know I've done a fair few mods but I'm sort of in limbo at the moment as to whether to go further with it (major interior refit and supercharger, brakes etc) or just keep it the way it is til end of next year and get someting newer. MK5 GTi or MK4 R32 perhaps, hard decision :(
I too wonder the same thing alot, the cars are old - how much cash do I want to drop on mods before I decide id rather a more modern car that will handle better then the nose-heavy pig the vr6 really is (i test drove a 130i a while back, now THATS balance!!!).
Such a tough question :/
