    Oil Pressure

Finally got a chance today to play around with a recently purchased Oil Pressure Gauge on my 2.0Ltr 8V engine (2E/ABA).

When first started (cool) the engine had an oil pressure around 40-50 PSI at idle but as it got to running temp, that went back down to 20PSI at idle.

Do these sound like pretty ordinary oil pressure figures for a 2 litre 8 valver?
What is the range where the Oil Pressure relief valve opens at (eg 60/70 PSI?),
The engine has an odd 250,000km on it and is running a 20W50 oil.

Just ensuring that the engine is normal and running nicely
    Thanks

    Should be around there.
My previous 2E was at 4 bar during startup and almost 2 bar at running temp with same grade of oil plus Bardahl 2.

I get around 100psi cold ( eeek ), which quickly settles down to 60-80psi temp dependant, and 20 or a bit less on really hot start stop traffic days.

Perhaps we have Hydraulic rams under our bonnet instead
I bought the 80PSI oil gauge thinking that it would be plenty, but I can max it out the gauge when the engines cold
Going back to a 10W40 Mobil now
