Ah yes, found it.
Shows two part numbers for that seal, which you'll only be able to confirm with VW using your VIN.

There are 2 o-rings for the oil cooler, one on each side.
038117070A is between the cooler and the filter adapter
038117070 is between the cooler and the cover

Haven't installed the part yet but having some success in eliminating the problem.
Can someone tell me what this block in the left of the photo is? The one with 3 plugs.
Thanks!

That's what the oil filter screws onto.

I'm aware, sorry, what I meant was what are those three plugs for and could oil seep out of them?
If the oil isn't coming from there then possibly the oil cooler on the right is leaking onto those plugs?
I have given both a decent clean so that I can see next where the oil comes from.

UPDATE:
Found the source of the leak. It's coming from the black plug as pictured. Hopefully will be able to fix easily.

Can the plugs be disconnected temporarily? I removed them to get better access but need to go drive get the correct socket in order to tighten it.

Can't hurt to leave them on, otherwise the dash will light up like a Christmas tree.
