    OBDI or II

im sure this has been covered many times but after ready countless pages im still left in the dark as to whether i am OBD 1 or 2.
My engine code is ADY. the build date is 95 but registered as a 96. ive read that obd1 is up to 95' and obd2 is 95' and up. i have also read that the 95' is a obd1 but with a obd2 connection.
i am trying to find out as i will be purchasing valve springs and retainers and there is a set for the different OBD's.
does anyone know what it would be, or how i could find out.

    cheers

My understanding is that cars built for the 96 model year are the first that have OBDII (On Board DIagnostics version 2). My car, despite being built in October '95 is a 96 model year and has OBDII. The way you can check if it is model year 95 or 96 is from the 10th character of the VIN. If it is an "S", it is 95, if it is a "T" it is 96.

    Hope this helps.
