    Normal Idle On The VR6??

I wanted to check with you guys and compare idles for the 1995 vr6's, i have no problem with it just wanted to clarify.....

When i do an absolute cold start .. it will jump up to 1,100 - 1,200 rpm for about 30 - 40 seconds... then will drop to 800 - 900 in the next 2 - 3 min and eventually when it's warm enough it goes down to 650 rpm... Is this the normal idle???

I have installed a 5.5 lb fidanza flywheel and a BMC panel filter ... it has still stayed the same idle process which i have no problem with...

Also about the throttle - when i hold it down a tiny bit and keep it constant the revs go up slowly from 650 to about 1050... And it plays around that 1000 rpm mark.. It's like its unstable ... I haven't changed the spark plugs and leads since i have gotten the car which i am doing very soon....

    Any help appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Boki

If the car feels like the revs are fluctuating because it's like....coughing, or spluttering, or just not smooth, then you may have an electrical ignition problem. Could be spark plugs, leads or the coilpack. I'd bet on the leads if they haven't been changed.

rpm is perfect man, that just the auto-choke when you first start it from cold

and as for it being "unstable" when you hold a consistant rev that will just because of having such a light flywheel (theres nothing wrong its just eger and wants to rev )
