It really depends on your budget and what you want to achieve from a setup

Give some more info and I'm sure the guys here can spear you in the right direction

^ yep what he said. But most of us will tell you to go coilovers, the more you spend the better stuff you get, but that being said theres some cheaper coils that will do the job if you just want to get low. Look at some peoples build threads and see what they did for an idea of whats involved. Check out the mk3 picture thread at vwvortex forums for some inspiration as well! Congrats on buying a vw!

try them or hit up some of the guys from these forums that Import and sell the stuff. I went with Nuspeed coilovers and while I was at it put in Neuspeed Sway Bars and Anti-roll Bars. My beast drives like its on rails! Feel it in the kidneys though lol. So the question is How Low Can You Go? Lower the better! And throw in some stance while your at it!

I know in QLD minimal Legal Height (pffft) is the height of a 375ml Coke Can. I was a little lower than that but still rides nice. You will find after a while you will need to adjust the coil overs my car has somehow risen in height which I am needing to fix. Might go tackle that not actually. Just go with what looks good and what you want.
