If your ignition key locks/unlocks it...it was fitted at the factory.
Most of the 95s i know of here did not get it, unless they are a late 95 on car.
Different markets got them at different times.
The reason i said 96on is that it will have one...and dont want to waste you guys time....as you head off to a wrecker to look for one from a 95 car.
Could be the previous owner fitted it (from a wrecked one)...if the key will not fit and lock it.
We have fitted a few to mates cars now...they have 92 - 95 mk3s.
Worth hunting down and getting if your mk3 does not have one.

Now that you mention it, my key doesnt work in it......
i reckon all the Australian ones don't have the glove box
but in some countries they get both airbag and glovebox![]()
Mysteries revealed!!!
I hadn't checked the lower part yet. But there's a shelf there that's practically useless. Kinda iritating too, where to keep CDs?!
I might hit up the VW wrecker I found this week and see what he's got!

CDs go in a cd wallet of course! and that sits nicely in a door pocket
I'm far too picky on what I want to listen to to keep a wallet of discs. Just pluck what I fancy that very second from my collection!
A glove box would be handy to stow them away in though. Failing that of course, theres always the under-the-seat trick.
