Too right there John, thats so stupid that. The actual glove box that went in there is no change in the legroom its good. But whatever room it has it utilises it all.

I wish I could find myself a glovebox for my car. I have stuff lying around the door compartments and rear seats. It's pretty much the only hate thing I have with the Mk3.

You guys might want to see if a wrecker has a 96on mk3 glovebox.
We are paying $70-80nz for them from wrecks.
And im talking about the lower passenger side glovebox here, not the pre passenger airbag upper one.

Easy fit, 5 screws fits all mk3s

There should be a fair few; problem is, my dash is navy blue, and there aren't many Golf/Vento's out there with a navy blue glovebox too!

Oh buggar, the blue dash. Not many of those.
    Get one and paint it?

Thought about it, but it seems to be a fair bit of work just to get some extra compartment space. I'd rather one that came in navy blue!

    Mysteries revealed!!!

I hadn't checked the lower part yet. But there's a shelf there that's practically useless. Kinda iritating too, where to keep CDs?!

I might hit up the VW wrecker I found this week and see what he's got!

CDs go in a cd wallet of course! and that sits nicely in a door pocket

True true. For me id just get one and fit it...stuff painting it.
When the time comes to sell the car, put the blue bin thing back in it.

And sell the glovebox to another mk3 owner.

What models of mk3 were sold new in ozzie? 3dr? 5dr? vento? variant? cabrio? cli/gli? gti? (8v & 16v) vr6?

Can you guys import second hand ones from japan? or singapore? south africa?

I have toyed around with the fact that I can try and go two-tone (blue top dash with black under-dash) but the glovebox I was eyeing on got sold to someone else, so I've ditched that thought haha.

I believe there were the 1.8L CL (later models came in 3-door), 2.0 GL (all 5-door), VR6 (all 5-door), early Cabrio and the late Mk3.5 Cabrio, and the Vento (I've seen GL versions around, not sure if there were any other versions). No variants and no GTI. I'm not sure but there may have been TDI's too? *looks at Oli*

Imports require a 1 year ownership of the car from wherever it is bought from, before you are able to bring it down. That's privately though.
