New VR6 owner, some noob Q's

hey guys, just bought a VR at the ILV show on sunday, always wanted one and it was pretty cheap so why not!

The car drives sweet, the bushes are kinda finished but the answers im after are:

What stud pattern it has, i had a look and it looks like 5X100 but im probably wrong, and if the 1997 models are 24V, or are they all? again i dont know a great deal about it, but it does feel like a 24Valver..
drives amazingly btw.. compared to my mk2
Also iv'e seen people selling the engines, mines got 180 on the clock so i was wondering what they go for if anyone knows just for peace of mind!

For the future im hoping to make the entire car black, quite literally everything i can make black, will be black, maybe get a CAI, possibly straight pipe it haven't look under the thing yet..silly.

ill post up some pics, its pretty rough around the outside.. and dont even wanna think about the inside, ****ing cat owners.

so just gotta get the roady for it, then she'll be the new daily!

    Welcome mate.

Unfortunately no, it's only got 12 little valves.

    Stud pattern is indeed 5x100.

At 180k if the chains haven't been done, they should be making a little bit of noise. Something to keep your eye one.

Sounds like you've got some cool plans, straight pipe will make it sound incredible.

Yeah that'll do it haha. My best mate has a 2-door 8 valver and he used to hate driving my car back when it was standard and I let him

ahhh, youre the one that bought it.

that was pretty cheap and looked really clean! great purchase!! (i owned the other greeny VR a coupla cars down).

your questions have pretty much been answered, but as for a secondhand engine, i dunno. I ended up buying a perfect parts car for $1500 with a strong engine and rebuilt gearbox. I've already had to use some of the parts off of it and if you take into account the go fast bits i took off of it (which i wouldve spent on anyway), the car would've cost me around $800.

    but yes, pics pls.

    YA! Twas me

well here are the photos! Keep in mind the guy was selling fairly cheap due to the fact he knows me and also he's leaving to Poland.
I'm still not 100% sure if ill keep t or sell it, i do love it, but it might be smarter to make some money for uni funds and whatnot.
So feel free to express what you think about it, what you think its condition is, what you think its worth on the market and whatnot cause who knows! i might MIGHT sell! but... that sound.
