    New VR6 owner

    Hey everyone

I have just recently bought my first ever VW Golf. It's a 1994 Mk3 VR6 2.8l. It's automatic but that doesn't take any of the fun out of it. It's an awesome car to drive, and I love every minute I spend with it. I am unfortunately new to the VW Golf so I am still trying to find my way around the plethora of gadgets and features. Hence my reason for joing the forum to hopefully learn more about my car, plus to meet a few more new people along the way.

I've added a few photos of my car also I have to admit it does need a clean, enjoy:

    Call me Preeny.

Clean car mate. Very clean. Looks like it has some good gear in/on it.

    Needs to be lower.

the first things you need to know.

    The window regs will break.

But on the plus side, you have total open/total close.
When locking the car, hold the key in the lock position. Any windows that are still ope, will close.
When opening the car on a stinking hot day, hold the key in the unlock postion. all the windows will open.

When i discovered this, it was like all my birthdays had come at once.

Also, when sitting in the drivers seat, reach under, where the leather ends, and you will find a thin metel rod, where the where the leather ends. Grab hold and pull up on it. You will bend this rod. You will probly have to do it on both sides of the seat. This will give you more under thigh support. Best mod i have made. And i have made lots of mods!

Thanks for the friendly welcome and kind words guys.

Does anyone know where to find either a hard copy or an online copy of a handbook for this thing?

I have no idea around the car at the moment, I turned the rear wipers on the other day and firstly had no idea how I had done it and secondly how to turn them back off again lol

Thanks for the tips ScienceVR6. The car has already fallen victim to a failed drivers window switch, so I already need to fix that lol.

I can answer that to. You pushed the wiper stalk forwards. To turn it off again, push it forwards again.
