While I'm thinking about it.... and putting together my budget.

Can anyone recommend a good Australian (or overseas if needed) supplier of Angel eye headlights to fit a MkIII VR6?

Also are there any other suggested mods that I may find of interest, also an estated cost for any recommendations would be nice. More after go that show, but I really like those headlights

That Canberra Car looks OK Hawk, wonder what he`d take for it?

Check the heater works. Best part of $1000 to fix it.

Been chatting to a guy tonight.

Going out to see this one first thing in the morning and if it's as good as it sounds over the phone it looks like I may have found my car

Only issue is the heater is stuffed in this one, but if thats all thats wrong I think I can live with that if the price is right. (By which I mean get it fixed.. eventually...).

    Well this is it:
    http://www.carpoint.com.au/used-car/...aspx?State=NSW

Went out and looked at it this morning, is very clean and straight, drives well etc etc etc

Like I said, heater is disconnected, everything else *seems*good, no obvious leaks, no strainge noises.

    BUT

Went to get the REVs check done and it's been flagged as a repairable write off. Which makes me a little concerned. But like I said, both my father in law and brother in law (who is mad into Commodores) have looked over it and think it looks OK. Still a little concerned anway.

Anyway, picking it up in a couple of hours... where I will have another good go over it, but otherwise looks like I have found my car.

Does me a little too. But what are you going to do now

After driving it home I have discovered a few minor things.

Cruise Control is dead, although when you press some of the buttons it sounds like a relay is ticking over somewhere, so who knows.

Air Con is crap, but then it could just need a re-gassing, will have to look into it.

    And of course the heating.

Even so, at $6,400 it's a pretty neat and tidy little vehicle.

Has a fancy(er) exhaust and a pod filter, although I will need to have a look at just how well they work and if they need to be replaced anyway.

Will also be looking for an aftermarket chip (or whole computer) some time in the future too.

Tomorrow will be a clean and photo day me thinks

    stay tuned.

repairable write off doesnt mean it has had a huge amount of damage if its been done recently. once the airbags blow on a vr6 and there has been a small amount of panel damage it will pretty much get written off these days

My cruise control is dead. Meh...

my a/c was crap too, a re-gas was all it needed.

What pod filter is it? K&N, BMC, ???

Id fix all the broken bits before thinking about soups.

    Lookin forward to the pix.

Yeah, thats pretty much the plan.

    Good clean and go over.

    Priorities:
Power Stearing/stearing column or something seems to be rubbing just to the right of centre, needs to be investigated. Everything works, but I want to track it down anyway.
    Air Con
    Heater
    Cruise Control

    Cosmetic:
Window Tint (needs some touch ups)
    Angel Eyes

    Performance:
    Chip/ECU
    Suspension

    All eventually...

Nice work mate. i know that car and the previous owner and its pretty nice.

Bet you are liking the leather.

Your link didn`t work, post some pics. What wheels does it have on it?

Dont be worried by the revs thing, doesn`t take much to write a car of these days, especially as lots of people over insure em and would rather have the money.

I know the guy who rebuilt that car and they do good work.

Look forward to seeing it soon, new watercooled stickers next week.

    Coming to the cruise tomorrow??
