thats crazy!!! i got quoted $45 for an correctly coded (but uncut) key from Chatswood Classic Cars (the closest VW dealer to my workplace) i went to a key cutter and they said it would be around $30 to cut it.

I'm in the same boat with my key - only got 1 left
