Well I got bored this morning so decided to get started on the flase floor. I had a load of MDF left over from making a new parcel shelf for my R31.

I used the boot carpet as a guide/template for the shape of the boot floor. I decided I needed somewhere to stick the amps to initially, instead of bolting them straight to the car floor. It also provides me with a base for the sides to make up the raised floor after.

First I made a rough base shape from the carpet. I had made it all one piece, but it wouldnt fit and I couldnt get it into the boot in the first place, so chopped it in half with my trusty $20 jigsaw!

As you can see, it still too big and overlapped and there is a slight bump on the right hand side of the boot floor, so needed to chop a few cm off the middle join and remove a section of wood from where the lump was to allow it to sit nice and flat. I also needed to cut out a section of the floor to allow removal of the spare wheel and tools if need be.

This is a far as I got. Will hopefully get it all done this weekend, just need more money and wood! Not bad though for less than an hours work

You should cover it with that carpet that has all the roads and the signs, buildings etc on it. The ones that the kids play on hahah.
    Now owns a golf. Stoked.

There will be a spare wheel and tools in there, and as thats only the bottom layer you wont see it all when I have the raised/top layer of the floor on. I will have a trap door cut out, hinged and carpeted in the end, so I can have full access to the spare etc

Cameo, thats an awsome idea, wonder if I can buy it by the metre? Will have to check out Spotlight soon, see if they do it hehe

Got stuck into the rest of the boot false floor on Saturday. Got most of it done so pretty happy now!

Heres some progress pics throughout the day incase anyone wants some ideas etc etc

Made the top section first out of some 9mm MDF. Spent a while measuring up the exact sizes of eveything and getting it to fit with the back seats upright. Took a while but worth it!

Then set about making the raised sections on the bottom base. I used 70mm heigh wood (cant remember what it was exactly, but nothing too heavy or expensive!)

Checking now and again it all fitted ok in the boot, cutting and modifying parts of the carpet so it sat nice and snug!

Then I bolted down the amps nice and securely. Made sure there was room to get the wiring in and still be able to adjust the controls if need be later on.

Then put it all back in, wired the amps back up again and tryed to tuck away some of the wiring, still messy though I know!

Put the top on, its not bolted down yet, not until I carpet it and cut out the trap door.

Then put the sub back in its place, forgetting I had to cut a recess out of the floor to get it to sit in properly. I rushed it too much and made some wrong measurements, resulting in a slightly too large a hole around the sub box. Ill fit it up later with some more wood so its neater

Thats as much as I got done for now. All works well, amps dont seem to overheat and I can use my whole boot again, yay

Now to find the right trim to do it all in.

Time for the next little project, retrimming parts of the doors in black suede I bought on Friday

Well I had another day off work so started on some of the retrim.

Having never done or tryed this before, it was something new to learn/teach myself to do. Ill have a go at anything pretty much, might aswell and better than paying someone else to do it for you!

Bought my fabric the other day, then bought some suitable glue and a brush aswell. Alex sent me some lower door speaker trims the other week so I had them to play around with.

    Heres what I did today:

Halfway through trimming it. Compared to an untrimmed one. Pics dont do the awsomeness of the fabric justice, its a black microfibre suade fabric

    One down, 3 to go!!
