    new lights for me!

i got some new lightsies... $180 shipped from ebay!

    here is the link:

and here is some pics (no ban for me!):

I originally wired the highbeam and standard lights the wrong way, but as they are all the same type of globes, it was just a matter of switching them over. overall, they are pretty good lights. I am thinking of taking them apart and doing this:

Wired the wrong way round? I suppose there is a benifit to using a set of lights with an OEM connector You would think that when making a headlight to fit on a particular model's mounting points that setting up a OEM connector would be simple. Even if you made the same base light for lots of models, a simple comverter plug would make things nice and simple.

Anyway... I'm a big fun of the Mk4 style lights, looking good.

its got the oem loom which is awesome. it was a straight swapover, unclip the front vent, unbolt the lights, bolt in the new ones, clip the bumper back on and adjust.

what i meant by 'wired the wrong way' was that i simply plugged the wrong wire onto the wrong light.

you can see in the pic that the two connectors are the same - so i just had them around the wrong way... the high beam is the lens closer to the center, the normal light is the one towards the outside. When I had the normal light on, the high beam would be on instead.

Nice Lachie! Let us know of the quality after a few weeks of using them.

Also, be really careful when you pry them open. Non-OEM lenses are known to be much more fragile.

Yeah Lachie they look great! Love to see them if you black 'em out!

Where'd you get em? I'm looking for lights, 180 is very cheap, almost skeptical cheap, but still!

You're luckier than me bboy, I ordered those lights from that seller and when they arrived one was broken, not to mention the crappy quality. Maybe they are from a different manufacturer? Anyways, glad you like em and they worked out ok for you. I have some FK's on the way so hoping they will be better than my last headlight attempt
