New Here :D
Hey guys!
Just purchased my very own vr6!
i havnt picked her up yet but i was just wanting to ask a few questions first
on the stock taco when is redline? because it has ddi dials and i was just wandering if its all the same
will 6 1/2 inch speakers fit in the front at rear doors? because it currently has no speakers in it! and would like to pikc up a cheap set before i head up just so i have sound on the way home
Where do i get those low front lips from? because the one on it is currently cracked and quite destroyed obviously from a good amount of lows
and also just wandering how much a vr6 engine + gearbox would be as this one has alot of kms and id like to do an engine swap at some point
Any feedback will be appreciated
Cheers Zale.

Welcome! I just picked mine up a week or so ago!
As far as I'm aware, only 6" speakers will fit into the doors. Mine redlines at 6500.
You can get the front lips on ebay, or you may find one on here every now and then. Or post in the want to buy section.
As for the VR6 engine, you can ask Camden GTI, they'll sort you out

Hey.
yep redline is 6500 unless you get it chipped which normally raises it to 7200 i believe. However if you feel the urge to send me your ddi dials for my stock ones just so you can be sure, im up for that
6.5 inch speakers will fit easy.
Ebay will be your cheapest bet for finding a "euro vr6 lip", i got mine from matt at camden gti, but as it wasnt a a geunuine one it didnt last long (although car sits 2 inches off the ground) if your car is really low id recommend getting the genuine oem euro lip as they are invincible (you could drive over it and not harm it in any way), ECS tuning sells them, they are about 300 by the time you get one here though.
again like naffler said golf loon may have something engine wise, or you could post in the wanted to buy section and see what people have lying around.
Anyway congratulations on the purchase. Be sure to throw some pics up when you get her

I think when the photos are thrown up people will know who's old car it was
Mate, trust me when I say this; the car you've bought is bloody immaculate, and despite being a VR6 and still having a few tourettes-like moments here and there you won't need to replace the engine due to its mileage just yet. It'll easily do another double that, provided you continue the frequent maintenance that ye olde owner had carried out on it... Which I hope you do!

ooo could this be mickeys one? in which case im incredibly jealous.
But yes, these engines actually are quite tuff, unless your incredibly unlucky, turbo charge it to 500kw, ignore the rattling timing chains or skimp on maintance the engine should keep pulling hard for many hundreds of thousands of km's to come. Still i often wish i had a spare engine sitting around to build up and drop in one day

Haha thats its fella's
yeah thats the main reason i want one! just to slowly do a twin turbo build !
thanks for the help ill keep u posted and post pics after i do my first mod
gonna be on the search for some serious deep dish wheels some time in the near future

Oh and also, I'll be keeping up the frequent Maintanance for sure, my step dad is a mechanic so I'll be doing most of everything myself with his help! Plus we have a killer setup in the shed ! Full mechanic workshop so that will make everything a whole lot easier when I'm modding
I'll be keeping the vr6 pretty much as is for a little while just gotta save up for the snow season but once the few things (season pass + new bindings) are paid for ill get stuck into modding her as she is along with getting my hands on another vr6 engine to rebuild and get all setup for a turbo/twin turbo build eg, redoing all the internals and getting the ecu chipped and all of the nesecary mods required for a proper turbo setup (: but once I pick her up next weekend I'll start a build thread! So keep tuned on that one
