I feel I'm doing something more productive doing this than playing a Wii!

I've finished the headliner but it looks like **** because I chose to put some padding underneath to give that OEM feel to it. It backfired cos (1) I peeled the paper backing off thinking it would be easier than sanding the original sticky foam and (2) the padding I bought was way too thick and not dense enough.

try some 7mm foam, i know someone else who did this and it worked out quite well, either that or just get fabric with some kind of spongy liner underneath...

Dammmn that looks good Preen! During my visits to fabric stores, I've found a lot of material that were thick enough to feel good on its own without any foam/padding, but they were generally more bland than what I had in mind.

Initially I wanted to go for the thin but dense padding (I think it's the 7mm one you're mentioning Branko) but it was a lot more than what I went for...

I know this isn't cheap i.e. $30-50 m2, but try to get some seat fabric from an auto-trimmer or auto-upholstery store. They will have the 2-4mm foam lining behind it and will provide you with all the support you need.

I've got two more trims to go (the large pieces that go over the rear quarters) and painting the rest of the trim (seatbelt sliders, roof grabbers, visors etc) to do before I'm done with it. Oh and also the door cards - I need your guidance Lachlan!

Anyway, I bought a set of mirrors from Peter Jones' wreck last week. Just a pic for now:

First time taking them apart though and I managed to break a few tabs Dismantled the other side now though and it came out fine

I've gone wayyy past the recommended consumption for plastic fumes for the day though, so I've stopped
