Glad to hear you have your car back. Looking sweet as !
Ray, they work exactly like coilovers. The sleeves in which the spring seat rotate around just slips into where a normal spring would sit, but since the sleeves use a normal strut body, not a shortened one, it doesn't go very low or else it'll keep bottoming out.
Haha totally dependable on my motivation. I've got a pretty hectic Uni schedule up through to that weekend and past itBut it will DEFINITELY be sweet at Melbourne later this year

Wow, being lazy and lack of updates has put this thread to page 9 of the Mk3 section!! Anyway - back from the dead!
Since the widened wheels until about 2 weeks ago, I haven't done much besides replacing the front wheel bearings. I've since made/making a few changes to the interior of my car while I save up for a new clutch and front sway bar links.
First change was buying leventis' Clarion DXZ866MP - a top head-unit with many onboard features and has a touch-screen. My previous Clarion has become a hand-me-down for my sister's Polo
I've also bought the Blaupunkt 2/1 channel amp and 12" sub from Silver dub, which will be a complement to the sound system I have in the Mk3. I've found that blasting music away helps in trying to ignore all the rattles in the car
VR6 seats have been finally put in the car after disassembling the fronts and giving them a bloody decent wash (thanks Grandma). ****ty pic but my Grandma helped patch up and pack some foam into the rips, which I'm very grateful for!
Best of all they don't stink anymore!
And now a bit of a teaser...
Everything won't go back on until another 2-3 weeks which is when new interior trim clips I ordered from Volkswagen will come in from Germany.
The pattern won't win all the fans but I love it![]()
Nice one Ray!
I'm def diggin' the style you have put into your MkIII
It's YOUR style, not just another rendition of some done to death theme. Yours is one of my favourite MkIIIs.

I dig it! I don't care if I think it will look crap anywhere else, it's now safe to say I know what kind of things you like for your car and this is definitely one of them, and I can totally appreciate your styling because it's so you! I love it man, can't wait to feel all your new fabrichahahh

boi, that is sik!how much of the interior are you covering!?
CheersAlex, like I said, it's only a teaser for now
Lachlan, I sanded the ENTIRE surface of the pieces and used the headliner adhesive to keep the fabric in place. I then cut little pieces (tabs) of fabric and used hot glue to stick it onto the backside. The curled sections of the edge that goes over the seals I had just cut the fabric so it still sits fine, with more hot glue on the edges. Fingers crossed that the fabric won't lose adhesion to the trim...
Looks good ray. I like it, can't wait for the finish product.![]()
