Does anybody have a spare broken or working coilpack I can buy off them?
Mine has a shot terminal on it and needs fixing.
    Thanks.

NEW heatercore with some sealant because i'm OCD haha
(and other parts for the air distributor box)

So yeah, did the heatercore swap over and filled it up with the good stuff (50/50 water/ VW G12++ coolant), put new off takes on for the breather hose for the heatercore, etc. Cleaned up the back of the dash and sorted out the old foam, cable tied it all up neatly at the back of the dash as I had to cut the factory cable ties off.

Fitted new extractors, they are a little bit louder, not heaps, but its a much better sound, it crackles, pop and mumbles and talks a fair bit, and generally just nice to hear the german 6 banger! Of course, no drone, so a cheap and very cheerful mod! Next will be cats (2.5 inch high flow 100cpi? Too big?)

As you guys might know, got my clutch, front bushes, new muffler and other bits a pieces done a while ago..
Its now going in early next week for my power steering to get serviced and my steering checked (few rattles and creeks), maybe some gearbox fluid, a general service (already done the coolant, oil, spark plugs and leads) so it wont need much.
Aircon needs a re-gas as I de-gassed it, worked fine before but cant hurt getting a fresh regas with my new heatercore.

Anyhoo, loving the car, gets lots of looks when they dont expect my ol' golf making such noise, and a great one at that, none of this clapped out lancer canon drone crap haha.
    Cheers

    Thanks for the comments

Yeah it was great to do this huge job, but its been very good for me to learn more about cars, so even though I loathe the heatercore swap, it was good in a way as it challenged me. Yeah the old heatercore bits were swimming around all over the place, flushed it out twice for a very long time and now the coolant is perfect.

    Cheers

Also if your heater core ****s out again, bypass HC before coolant goes in/out of those two pipes in the engine bay, i did it on mine 3 years ago havnt had a problem since,

not like we need heaters in sydney anyway

Thats what most people do, bypass the heatercore, its simple but you dont have heating anymore. I live on the coast so in the winter we get crippling sea breezes etc, so I would like to retain the heatercore. Your lazy if you dont change it, its only a dash out job, it does take time but it saves you $1000 in labour.

Sounds like your young by the sounds of your username, so use google, find the NGK Australia website, go to spark plugs available on their site, type in the car you have and you'll get an answer!

Yeh same but I park in a garage so it doesn't really effect me, plus only use it for Uni not to many early mornings.

Cheers I'll check the plugs out.
