    Talking My orignal lighting project

So I was bored one day at work and found this little strip of flexible white LEDs on ebay...
    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/White-12V-96-...QQcmdZViewItem

I was actaully looking for some interior lighting to put in the boot for my stereo install but 10 Minutes previous to that, I was also admiring the Audi R8.... does anyone get where I am going with this?

    Mk3 Audi R8 Golf FTW

    kgo!

    Yeah!!!!

    Parkers only:

    Main Beams:

This is how I wired it up:
    1. run power wire from both lights through the fire wall and up behind the dashboard.

    2. pull out lighting thingo (i believe it is called a loom?)

    3. turn lights to the 'parker' position

    4. use a vu meter to work out which pins are for the parker lights

    5. jam the wires into the back of the connector

    6. re-assemble

Here you can see that I'm holding the power wires for the light strip

and here is a better example of where the wires go

don't hold me to it but i believe the one further to the left is the negative.

I don't think the pictures really do them justice, because they look sweet in the night.

    Opinions are more than welcome

if only they were just a little bit shorter - then they would have looked like angry eye brows! hahaha

Photos, no doubt don't do them justice, so I'll reserve judgement till is seem them in person

I was wondering though, why didn't you do them on the bottom like on the R8?

These are pretty cool! I think I need some blue ones for a future project...

10/10 for doing something unique. It will be interesting to see them in real life.

Great Job! I've been waiting for someone to do this and you've done it well. If u develop a kit and include all parts and easy instructions you'll make $1million.

Interesting..I reckon you should have started from the edge to the center like the R8.

yeh I'm going to have another crack at it on the weekend as it looks pretty dodgey atm. The Lights themselves really aren't that bright, but the camera-phone doesn't do a good job of adjusting to the light.

I'll move them to a few different locations and maybe shorten them a bit to see what it looks like and take some more pics.

i'm might also try blacking out every second globe, just to make it more spaced out like the R8....

    stay tuned.

It's different, I don't know if I like it yet, but all I would say is that it's a golf, not an R8... Make it unique (different to the R!

I like it and will steal it and use the idea on my Volvo, except I'll run it on the bottom like it's meant to be :p
