Conversions are fun but not when you have to pay a mechanic to do it as the labour costs are just $$$$.
I've been searching a little for 2.8's and only found a handful with 220xxx+km for $2500~ which I thought was a rip off considering the price and kilometres of R32's.

I will do the conversion by myself, I have my cousin who owes me from the engine swap we did on his car.

A few years back salvage vr6's were going for $1500, now they are going for less but the downside is that they dont come up as often.

If you are itching for a conversion and dont mind spending some money i.e. >10k then dont discount a 1.8T conversion as there are plenty of mk4 gti's, a3, s3, TT's comparatively than vr6's.

That was a serious possibility at the start. I've seen a few 1.8's making good power. But in the end I'm still p's and a turbo is more obvious than .4L increase in displacement.
However the 1.8 doesn't have a VR growl.

So today i went around to the mechanics to sort out somethings, and to my shock, There was my car sitting on the side of the road with the hood open... Now to my understanding it has been there the whole 6 months instead of inside where i was told it would be. So my rotors are all rusted, everything faded, hopefully no cracks in the interior!

So my question is, If i were to by a 2.slow, am i able to take the engine mounts from my VR and put them in that to put the R32 engine in?

Or is there some differences to the bays?

No differences in the engine bay, but does the R32 mount up in the same locations?

If you're going to buy another I'd try and buy a cabby!!! An R32 cabby would be a LOT of fun haha
