Needs a 5speed damn it! What a shame to have all that gear and run it through an auto.

    who did the engine work?

with the adjustable FPR and bigger injectors it doesnt seem like your too concerned with fuel economy, but ill say it anyway, with the 80 degree thermostat you'll probably use a bit more fuel, unless the giac chip can factor it in. (other wise its always going to think its not hot enough, like its just warming up so its gonna run rich like at idle, you know?)

I did all the work at the w/shop . Ihave all the specs of the engine written down somewhere in the workshop .

Fuel economy wasnt the greatest driving to Queensland , but with enough clothes / supplies and spare parts to last a week it doesnt suprise me . It avergaged 10l/100km over 2300km . The car does run hotter so it doesnt take long to heat it up .

Auto transmissions rarely break , they just wear out . Ive upgraded the parts deemed necessary for the extra power . I could break a manual transmission quicker than an auto , especially once you have decent power

Courtney will post up some current pics shortly .

Apart from some new bushes and soon new rear bump stops suspension will remain stock . This is a daily driver with a baby on board and will be a long distance driver so suspension will remain stock .

The auto is a weakness ,but if it was a manual I wouldnt have used 262 cams , 268 as a minimum . Everyone can have their opinion on this , but it was my decision to build this to show you dont need a manual to have a quick car .

9.8 @ 74 mph was its best time . I know it could have probably gone faster if I did some more tweaking before giving it to Courtney to drive . The Seat gti's best time was 10.4 . I know here in Sydney at Oran Park (where the elavation is much lower ) a manual vr6 with chip, intake, cat back exhaust ran 9.9 . So I'd say the car would run 9.5 . That equates to an easy high 14 on the 1/4 . Faster than Williams Ibiza VR6 . Im happy to run it against anyone thats up for a race , otherwise I'll wait until drag combat next year to get a 1/4 mile time .

I love it cos its different to build a quick auto VR6.

I'd rock it as a daily for sure!

    Hi again

I think my best time down the 1/8th mile was 10.004 my reaction time needs a bit of work! but it was a fun weekend
This is definatly an enjoyable car to, sometimes too enjoyable!
I'm upgrading my brakes to 288mm units for the track day this coming weekend

Nice work on getting the car up and running. I've only been down the strip once and managed a 15.7 in my VR6, and yeah, that whole reaction/launch thing takes a bit of work to get right.
