    My "Murdered" VR6

    Hey Guys,

Just thought I'd start a thread about my recently purchased murdered out 95 vr6. The previous owner attacked it with the flat black spray paint (it was previously a pretty rare (I believe) bluey / purple colour.) He also lowered with Koni lowering springs and stuck a bunch of fugly stickers all over it which I removed!

It now looks more like this:

Although I'm going to get some hate for it I think I'm going to leave it matt black, mostly cause I cant be bothered respraying it at this stage! I think one guy on vortex referred to a murdered car as the equivalent to wearing an ed hardy t-shirt! But I am hoping to get it looking like a matt black version of this:

pretty ambitious I know but we'll see how it goes!
    Initial plans are :
new wheels (thinking about this still.)
    coilovers
installing a thule rack i picked up for it.
Smoked indicators / fogs / sidemarkers
Joey Modd or mk4 style headlights
    Remove arch flares?
switching out velour interior for leather.
After that some engine / exhaust mods!

All of this is on hold at the moment as within the first week of owning it, she threw the serpentine belt which jumped out and grabbed the wiring loom and shredded it!
End result of a stuffed waterpump and belt tensioner bearing! So after I fix up that mess I'll start on the mods!

spose that makes my colour less comon haha.

From the photos the paint job doesnt look too bad, I think it'd look tough as, although I'd never even think about painting over mine :S

As you said joey modded headlights and smoked indicators would finish off the look sort of, you can do the indicators/dummy with a couple coats of VHT niteshades, and theres a few diys for joey modding headlights

Don't worry about Vortex mate, do what you want as at the end of the day, it's your car to enjoy.

Car looks tough as, the stock BBS wheels in black look great, I reckon go for a different set of wheels after you've done everything else!

I reckon it'd look good without the arch trims!

But like ray said, you car, do what you want! it's a pretty unique car, so why start caring about what other people think now...

    get to it!

WTF were those stickers even supposed to be?
Matte black can look good when done properly. At least the bonnet wasn't rusted.

Haha yeah I have no idea why he did that - its some car graphics company called AIM that his mate owns I think. He actually did suggest to me that I grind the bonnet and fuel door back for the rust look!!.....I wont be doing that. He is actually right into VW's and owns a pretty amazing 59 bug that alot of you would know!
Oh and I forgot to show you guys the other sticker that was on it when I got it - both sides!
