Thats not the actual set I'm getting - just the only pic I could find of some refurbed. I do like the gun metal look though....hmmm maybe this could be the way to go? Here's mine complete with gutter rash etc

Well despite it being christmas I have been busy playing with my new toy. Replaced the water pump, belt tensioner, leads plugs and oil this week! Going by the weird whirring noise I hear in the back I'm thinking fuel pump will be next! Might have to buy myself one cause I know its going to crap out on me at the worst possible moment! Doesn't look too hard to swap out - anyone done this?
Also got some Thule racks which I put on this afternoon!

Next on the list will be suspension and then get those wheels refurbished and hopefully have some semblance of a stance on the thing without getting a defect notice!

I reckon some dark colours on those audi wheels will kill !! Perhaps gun metal grey or matte black aswell,

^yeah I think matte black might still be the way to go. I think they could look good with some low profile stretched rubber on them!

Jarred - they are 17 x 8, I believe - offset is 35 or 40mm (info is conflicting on this) stud pattern 5 x 112, kinda sucks cause I'll have to run adapters, which are spendy for good ones, but the wheels were cheap and I have never seen them on a golf.

Wheels should arrive this week, still not sure how they will look but for what I payed for them it doesn't really matter! I will get them repaired and powder coated black and see how they look. Here's about the only photo I can find of them mounted on semi low profile tyres!

Flat black goes hard as. As long as it's done right. If I bought a car with a worn out factory paintjob, I would do a flat colour for sure!

Ok - so my new wheels showed up and as expected they have a bit of gutter rash, anyone know a good wheel refurb place is S.E Melbourne? Just want to get them repaired and powder coated black (of course )
