my mk3 VR6 aka "the bruiser"

Ok, so everyone who's a regular has seen my thread "my murdered vr6" - it featured my matte black vr6 that was poorly painted by the previous owner and a basket case before I started sorting it out. I came close to selling it a couple of times and considered setting it on fire a couple of times as well!
here's when it looked the best as a murdered mk3 for those who cant remember!

But now its (touch wood) purring like a kitten and alot of fun to drive. I have started to rub the black off it and now its kind of black and blue and looks tough still and reminds me of a bruise - hence - "the bruiser" my pet name for it!
So i decided to start a new thread to keep me motivated in its second lease on life! I am now thinking of going for an oem plus sorta look (i think). But here's what I have done to date:

    fk streetline coilovers
    replaced fuel pump
    replaced water pump
    replaced belt and tensioner
    new leads and spark plugs
    replaced thermostat
    replaced coolant tank
    joey modded headlights
    tinted hella indicators and fogs
    tinted side markers
    bee sting aerial
    debadged rear
    badgeless grille (thanks ben)
replaced bonnet and rear passenger side door (again thanks ben)
just got some mint votex racks

some pics of my new votex racks ( I am a freak for roof racks and these are the holy grail of racks for a mk3 I reckon!)

I also have 2 sets of wheels to play with:

an amazing set of audi 17's that I will show soon enough, and a set of rays splits that I am getting bigger lips for (also 17's)

    Stuff to come:

    more panels replaced (hopefully)

adapters so I can run these audi wheels

    roll all guards

    Euro Lip

Searching for a new steering wheel

Searching for a leather interior (frigging james in the uk flaked on selling me his euro edition recaros)

Searching for a cheap or preferably rear hit vento to pilfer parts off to do a front swap eventually

    replace all coolant hoses

wish I could get aircon fixed also (gold coast is hot!)

    dream mods:

    bags of course

    frame notch

    supercharger!!

    full respray

more wheels, some fifteen 52s ideally!

Yes, love the unratting. Get the rest of that cruddy matte off and it's going to look awesome. New QLD plates when you're settled here, and the 17s... you'll feel like a brand new woman.

wow there is light for this car! I know when someone looked at it while you were away it was in a dark place... as you said, border line worth fixing and wanting to kill it off.
Loving the blue on these!! what 1552 wheels are you looking at?

yep she's been to hell and back, still along way from where it needs to be but I'm working on it slowly! The only downside is I surf and a mk3 is the worst surf car ever!! I'l admit I came close to buying a b5 passat wagon a few times!

I am waiting for them to drop the tarmacs in 17's - as soon as they do I am buying a set! Such a rad wheel for a mk3 i think!

haha tell me about it. half the surf spots we visited were no longer when we took my bora to the beach even at stock height + the 18s for more lift.
wagon would be great. on my list too but haven't found the right one...
    good choice in wheels
