    Cool My Little Volkswagen

My third car and my second Mk3, she's a 2.0L GL with 171,000 kms. A little high, but I got it off a German car lover who owned it for 10 years before passing it down to his daughter, then to me with log books and all. I checked it out one sunny morning after 2 hours of traveling, and almost everything was okay. A faded panel here and some bubbling on the side of the bumper, but that shall be fixed once I get some dough.

Of course, Murphy's law happens to ring true, and a few days after promising to buy her, a mint VR6 pops up for sale a mere 3 grand more than this Mk3. I'll stick with the little GL though, not enough funds to deal with any VR6 problems. #excuses

Now the question was, how to tell the girlfriend? Haha. I rolled up to the train station to pick her up, and holy sh*t, I did not expect her to be that angry. Whoops. She didn't forgive me for days after that. The photo below, you can see her sulking in the back seat. My friend in the shot is pulling bits off my car. I still haven't found a piece of my dash that he's pulled off. If anyone's parting out a Golf Mk3 and has a dash, please let me know.

In the near future, I want to find some nice wheels, but being new to the scene, I have absolutely zero idea on how to choose wheels. The only thing I know is that I need wheels with a 4x100 stud pattern. Near future, steelies. Further off in time, probably something JDM. I was a huge JDM fanboy until my girlfriend made me drive her Polo. I'm planning to be sacrilegious and have JDM styling cues on my Mk3. I just gotta figure out what kind of 15" steelies would fit and where I can find/buy them.

Faded rear spoiler. How does one take it off? Throwing up between respray or wrap.

Midnight cruising and enjoying my 85kw engine. It's got enough power to get me to legal speed limit and not much else... what a shame, but still enjoyable.

So about a week after I got her, this happens:

Window regulator. Sigh. So it's currently at Seb's Euro Automotive waiting to be fixed up along with another bunch of stuff. Much poor, such empty wallet.

    Plans after getting more money:
    Bang-for-buck respray.
    Tints.
Decent suspension (not for lows, but for handling + current one is on the way out).

I'm located in Sydney. Y u no local?! I'm looking for a part below the steering column shroud and to the left. It's a bit smaller than an A5 piece of paper. Car's at the mechanic, otherwise I'd provide a photo. Nice wheels you've got on your parts car by the way. Haha.
