Far out, i never went that far..
I kept it 4 stud, never worried about the subframes, etc...
And the 16v went straight into my 8v relay box, and i never changed the dash...I also stayed without ABS..

Hmmm what did you fit? ABF, loom, ecu, radiator, box? the ABF gets the 02A box with a hydro clutch and EDL, but you can use the 020 cable box.
Its just the gearing is slightly different.
Was the ABF from a SEAT? Do you have rear drums or discs?
Any plans on beefing your brakes up? or are they ok. Ive got discs all round and have just fitted 288s up front
Any other tweeks planned?

I put in a early model mk3 golf ABF, with loom and ecu. Also installed the 02A gearbox, and bought brand new from VW a clutch master cylinder, and hoses to run it hydraulically. I used the 8v radiator, fuel pump, downpipe, o2 sensor, etc... The ABF loom went straight into the relay box, which meant it works with all the stuff i had before, including dash cluster... If I had all the parts before the conversion, i could have done it in a weekend (except for the port polish head work)
I'm using the stock 8v brakes and 4 stud, which is discs all around. I have a set of VR6 callipers i COULD use, and get some seat cupra 4x100 280mm discs on the front with some nice pads, but uni budgets don't allow that stuff!
here's a pic of it all before install

Far out!
5k for cams and a chip, and a lil intake work...
-
Yeah its a bit on the high side for a 30-40hp gain
That price included shipping when i priced it up
Then you have to pay a bit of GST when it gets here
Just not worth it, living this far out from europe
But apparantly its a really good kit if you are keen on keeping your ABF N/A

Love those wheels - they're off a Subaru Liberty correct? Saw a set on one today, and they're 5x100 to boot

Nah they came off the ex-japan donor 16v 5dr i got for the swap.
They could have come off a liberty in japan, never seen them before on anything here, but one of your VR6 guys had a set of the same BBS RNs in 17's
ET is 35 but ive rolled my rear arches so they are sweet.
Cleaning them every week with a toothbrush will be fun
