    Unhappy my cat died any suggestions

    after getting my exhaust done i have come to the attention that my cat converter has perished, all the ceramic has collapsed
    and the guy quoted me 1700 for a oem vw one, or after market 900
    anyone have a suggestion as to what i should get and where to get one from

    $900 for a non oem one.... what a rip off!! You can get a decent hi-flow cat for around $250. Look for a Magnaflow or any other decent branded cat which you can order from most decent auto shops or most exhaust places should be able to get you one in.

    I had a full turbo back 3 inch system with sport cats built for 1900.

    PM Golfloon and get a secondhand one. He must have loads.

    lol, from the title i thought you meant your family pet...

    I was going to advise probably not to hang onto it (bury it), and look for an alive one somewhere .

    hahah thats exactly what i was thinking when I read the title! hahaha

    Sounds like aftermarket cat is the go. if you car get a new hi flow for $250 - hey presto in my book!
