Thanks guys!! Appreciate it!
Nice and neat and not to over the top, a bit discreet.
I bought that tiny badge of ebay not really knowing what I'll use it for. When I saw how well it fitted on the engine cover I had to stick it on! It was as if it was ment to be =)
Managed to find my camera today so here are some more. Just because we all love picture so much ;P
Another long day, time to hit the sack!
See you all laaateeerrr![]()

Loving what you've done to it! Average person wouldnt see anything but a clean bay. vw lover on the other hand would see something different and special.
That's beautiful. Really envious of this car.
this is soo nice.
love the detail.
looks great, love it!
Love it.
How long did that take you Mr V
Many thanks to all of you!
It sure lifts the whole appearance of the car imo. And the hood lifters are just so sweet every time you pop the bonnet. And yes... i have been doing that prob every day at least once since i got the new manifold just to look at it haha.
Taking the manifold of an bolting back on is quite easy actually, very straight forward if youve ever done some mechanics before. What can set u back is detailing individual pieces as you go along. There's always bits and hoses that can be cleaned and brought back to former glory. Like the throttle body, once of i realized it also HAD TO be painted. No butts...
My plans initially were to sand down the front part of the manifold to, the 6 individual intake tubes, but it took to bloddy long and i ran out of patience. I just sanded them down to get a better and smoother surface that would look good once painted.
All up i prob spent 5h on actually preparing the manifold before swapping it over with the org on the car.
started of with like grit 60 and then worked my way up to 80, 120, 200something, 400, 600 and 1200. Then heaps of Autosol and more rubbing hehe. Did most of the hard work by hand since i didn't have any decent/adequate power tools for the job.
I could prob take it down to a mirror finish but after popping the hood as it is now i have to say that i really like it the way it is. Not to overwhelming. And knowing me Id freak out over the smallest speck of dust or fingerprint if it had a mirror finish :p
Tempted to remove bonnet/see through bonnet so i can glance at the engine whilst driving haha *nerd*
That time of day again. See ya guys!
( there will be more pics of the car coming later during the week, new fresh ones, possibly from the track to! )
