MattyT can also tune in in this thread too - I think he mounted it next to the driver's seat, along the plastic trim that covers the vacuum pump and miscellaneous wires.
Got a new anti fire bottle today, 1KG bottle with mounting fame thing which has spaces for a couple of bolts. The question is where to put it?
It's either use self tappers into something that will hold, or drill through something and use nuts/bolts.
So where is a good place to mount them? Where have you mounted yours? I'm open to suggestion.

Vote 1 for custom making something so it sits where the glovebox is![]()
TA-DA:
I just drilled straight down, then screwd in with the supplied screws. Is very secure and doesnt interfere with leg room at all. I dont even hit it on the way in or out od the car either!
Plus because its underneath my legs most people dont see it so you dont get razzed for being a boy racer
Also if you're going to drill into metal, make sure you use some anti-rust spray (fish oil) on it else it'll rust to all ****.

THATS a massive fire bottle you got matty.
Hawk... how about mounting left/right below the door lock of the boot. there is about 3 inches of metal and flat surface. Nice and close for easy access.
Also how about having it sitting in the space saver underthe carpet if it fits, angle grind the stem out than you have plenty of space.
I just mounted one in the boot, fits perfectly in the little gap on the drivers side and no need to drill any new holes! Just punch a few holes through the carpet to get to the holes on the metal plate at the back.

There is existing holes? Nice. Will have to have a look see.
As for mounting inside the cabin, on one hand it's nice and handy, on the other it messes up the interior look. I like the nice neat, clean interior.
The only reason you couldn't get to the boot are:
A. It's on fire, in which case I think I would be moving away anyway.
B. You have been hit in the rear and can't open the hatch. If the other car is on fire, in which case see point A.
As for size, mines about the same, 1Kg bottle.

You actually have carpet on the side wall.. Some of us only have crapy sound deadening stuff there.
Anyways back on topic... Thats a nice mounting point !!
Nah, it's just a 1kg - probably just looks huge from the wide angle lens I used to take the shot.
I like where mine is because its easy to get to. I want to take the dub onto a racetrack soon and over here they mandate the anti-fire bottle be within arms reach, so it ended up where it is.
