ECU will run a base chip , similar to N/A cars but tuned for forced induction .

6 psi boost is fine without engine mods , stage 2 is intercooled with a bit more boost .

What you need to keep in check are the intake air temps . The VR6 runs a fairly strong composite head gasket , as was mentioned earlier , the engine should be in good condition before you go forced induction , if the rings dont seal you'll get a lot of blowby . The rods/pistons are strong enough to take a fair bit of boost before needing replacement .
When you say a mess , what exactly are you refering too ?

there are plenty cars in the US making nice power on a stock bottom end. VR6 is a pretty tough engine

It sure is, 255k on the clock and it still happily revs to redline all afternoon long

Maybe I should rebuild the VR6 motor I have sitting around... 8-9:1 comp ratio maybe?? Add a GT35R and you'll never wipe the smile off your dial!

Feel free to email me as an expression of interest and once final pricing has been negotiated you can be the first to know. The kit will come with everything
    including the tune.
My own car will have a Stage 5+ kit which will have most of the R & D done.

I think I may be looking at this instead of the supercharger but still well undecided. I want to run the schrick as its put me in alot of money so this kit is interesting.

However $5500 is just the base. You still need to look at labour plus and no doubt you will need a LSD which will set you back roughly $2500.

At this rate I could say roughly in the visinity of $10k for this upgrade.

    You're a wimp Cheesy Steve!
Get a freakin spanner out, and take that g/box apart by yourself!
As for the turbo kit, it should simply be a bolt up affair!
And, at least buy some real shoes, not your "chinese safety boots"...
