    Model: GOLF94A

Just got the green slip for the VR6 sent out from my insurer as well as one from Allianz who it was with previously.

The Allianz one says Model: GOLF94A, although it does list it as a 1996... just curious, what does the GOLF94A signify?

    Type 1H I could see, VR6 I could see, but GOLF94A??

the code signify differing models. a mk1 diesel may be golf02A.

I have just been running some numbers for insurance too...

    My NSW CTP Green slip:

    NRMA: $372
    AAMI: $404
    Allianz: $331
    GIO: $500 odd!

    Comprehensive:

    NRMA: $1,345
    Allianz: $910
GIO: $1,278 and this includes a 15% online discount + a discount for getting the green slip from them too

I'm starting to think Allianz may be the way to go for this car...

    handy to know.
i will be looking up allianz also.

has anyone had any experience actually dealing with them regarding an incident? (i.e. how easy do they pay up/how harsh are they on modifications)

    Thats an interesting question.

I wonder how they feel about lowering, exhaust work, etc etc...

Does that sort of general stuff keep it within their policy? You would think it would, but you never know.

I'm currently with NRMA, but I think that is set to change VERY soon.
